We are now looking for a department head for the individual and family care (IFO) who wants to be part of further developing the work within the Social Services Department. We are on a development journey where we strive together to meet the needs of our residents in the best possible way.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As the department head for IFO, you will lead and develop the operations with a focus on a transformation towards an accessible and preventive social service. You will do this together with experienced staff and unit managers. An important part of the role is to collaborate both internally and externally and to represent the department in various contexts. You will integrate the strategic work of the management with the operational work within your department together with four unit managers.

The strategic work is characterized by ensuring a purposeful operation that is stable and sustainable. We dare to take steps forward and develop based on the needs we see, aiming for a relevant long-term and cross-departmental development.

You will represent the individual and family care in the political committee together with the unit managers. As the department head for IFO, you play an important role in the municipality's crisis support organization.

In recent years, the Social Services Department has worked towards a reduced focus on organization and more focus on the target groups: children and youth, adults, and the elderly. We recognize and utilize each other's competencies to best meet the needs of our target groups. This is not just something we say, but something we do.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying should have a degree in social work or another equivalent higher education relevant to the position.

A valid driver's license (B) is a requirement for the position.

To succeed in this role, you need to have experience in strategic work in a leadership position. You have experience working in a politically governed organization, are well-versed in legislation, public finance, and have an analytical mindset. We want you to have a background in social services and experience in qualified authority exercise. You have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing. You also have knowledge of the new social services act and the ability to manage the full breadth of IFO calmly and confidently throughout the processes.

You are an experienced and secure leader who masters the area while focusing on creating a work environment that fosters a good collaborative and learning culture.

Furthermore, you have a desire to be a visible and present leader who creates calm and stability. You have the ability to create an inclusive atmosphere and delegate responsibilities with clear frameworks and goals, which allows for freedom to act independently.

You have the ability to see the big picture, create participation, are results-oriented, and focused on the best interests of the residents. Courage, clarity, and commitment are three important qualities in you as a candidate.
